As much as we attack the GOP in the house and Senate for obstructing we must remember there is somebody out there voting for these people. We like to think of their base as stupid, racist bigots, which may be true to a point, but for the most part the best description of the red voter would be ignorant. For years they have been feed a steady diet of hate rhetoric and fear mongering. It's no wonder they are so easily swayed come election time to vote against their interest. Simply characterize their opponents as the "other" out to steal their hard earned paychecks and a certain % of the electorate instantly becomes a supporter. So instead of crying about how the GOP is so horrible best to spend our energy educating people and let the GOP's actions speak for themselves.

It has been over two months since I quit smoking and still not a day goes by that at some point I don't reach for my pack of smokes. I still regularly dream about smoking, often waking up feeling guilty for breaking my resolution by smoking again.  It is amazing what kind of a hold those things can have on a person.
